Final Project
During my practicum I was responsible for assigning, teaching, and guiding students through their final project. This project allowed students to choose from a list of ideas like, birdhouses, feeders, a terrarium, aquaponics, and a living wall. Each idea was related to the green industries course. This project used differentiated instruction techniques to allows student voice in their learning. Each student chose a project that spoke to them and built upon their previously learned skills in this course. The project followed a simple structure of research, design, present, build. Each student went through this process and learned about what it takes to actually build something in the real world. I learned a great deal from this project, like when to create deadlines, how to differentiate appropriately, and more about my teaching and assessment style. I look forward to using this knowledge in my future teaching career.
