Hot Zone Training

During my practicum I had the opportunity to participate in a student field trip to be Hot Zone Trained. The training taught students about the dangers of flammable materials and the importance their of safe handling procedures. The course also educated students on working in confined spaces and the procedures that go alone with them. I learned a great deal about the topics presented in the course as well as the process of taking students on a field trip. Throughout the day there was a bit of  a challenge keeping students focused on the training, but myself and the other teacher chaperone were able control the situation through some strategic seating arrangements. This knowledge will definitely be of use in the future, when I plan field trips of my own.
